I am Riccardo Nanni, a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Leiden Observatory, working in the ENIGMA group led by Prof. Joseph F. Hennawi. I manly study high-redshift quasars, with a specific focus on the analysis of optical and NIR data.

I was born in Bologna on the 20/02/1992, I spent most of my youth in my hometown, where I graduated in astrophysics at the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna and started my PhD at Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica (INAF-OASBo). During my PhD project and Master thesis, I started my career into the high-z Universe, studying distant quasars with X-ray telescopes.

When I don't analyze data of distant quasars, I spend my free time nerding: films/tv-series, boardgames, videogames, books, painting miniatures, reenacting... Too many topics to metion.

Finally, I love history, travelling, learning more about other cultures and meeting new people. So I travel a lot for both work and pleasure.
